Which car - Sporty SUV/Estate
Discussion
Another what car thread but keen to get input, following sale of my M5 I am looking for a interim car that is for the next 12 months to see how the market is.
Budget – up to £25k
SUV/Estate preferred
Automatic preferred but manual an option
Good interior, with decent tech
Will hold value (as best possible)
Fast and a good soundtrack from exhaust
Some manufacturers warranty
The budget is set, some of the rest I may have to compromise on but i am keen to get into something decent.
For reference i was looking at some of the older RS4's (top end of budget via Audi and older tech), the X3 M-Sport 40d (limited soundtrack), 2016 X5's, RSQ3's and 340i Touring to give a flavour.
Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Unimaginative suggestion but I reckon you’d get a decent Golf 7R estate for £25k. Possibly a fairly low mileage mk7.5.
It’s not exactly exclusive, but you still don’t see a lot of estate versions about. It really is a great all-round car. Look for one with decent spec (a lot will be ex-lease with no optional extras - like mine was!). It’s a great car as standard, but the 19in wheels look miles better than the standard 18s, the DCC is supposed to be pretty good, and I think there was an updated stereo option too. Also there’s the possibility of the expensive exhaust option (Akrapovic I think) if you look around.

I'd go about this in a different way, if this is going to be an inbetween car then I'd go for an older performance Estate/SUV that's at the lower end of your budget with the money you haven't spent going towards your next purchase, with that being said here are my picks:
