Internet Auction Sites

At one time there was ebay , before that we bought the local paper, Autotrader or Top Marques.
Looking today there are quite a lot of "classic " car auction sites, many advertising on ebay.

Are they any good are they trustworthy? I'm looking at a car advertised on one of them .
