I commented on the WBAC not buying thread but didnt seem to get noticed so thought id start a thread

I was looking around Autotradrer website the other day and noticed that they are now offering to buy cars, similarly to WBAC but their prices seem to be a bit better (i did like for like quotes on 3 cars in my household).

They also appear to guarantee the price on screen.

Anyone else noticed/come across this?

Is this separate to valuation tool which shows how much you would get for a private sale and part exchange ?

I was planning on maybe selling my car to Arnold Clark but it’s good to have more options especially if they’re now giving more generous valuations.

Maybe it’s me, but I can’t see where they offer that service. Do you have a link?

Nah. It's a plug for one of their ads, surely?

They aren't actually offering to buy the car from you. They are saying "sell your car with one of our ads and get £1254 more for it".

its a new service called instant offer, seems they have partnered with Manheim (BCA rival)

I selected value my car at the top of the page, entered my reg and milealge and then there is the "instant offer", says its new.

The Mad Monk is incorrect it seems.

I used Wizzle recently when selling a car and I found that better because you put in all your car details including pictures and you get instant quotes from a number of the car buying services (don't remember if it was 4 or 6 now) and you can choose which ones you wish to make contact with from there. Worked for me.

As I might soon be changing car, I tried the Autotrader buying page a few minutes ago but after putting in some details it seemed to crash and got stuck on a blank white page.
