6k coupe or 4wd

Hi everyone

So I’ve had a lot of cars in my time and currently have a 350z but it’s time for that to go and move on. Ideally I’d like a coupe or something 4wd evo Impreza or so on. Currently thinking about an z4 3.0 coupe.

Any thoughts on this or other suggestions welcome. Ideally I’d have an evo 5/6 but finding one in budget would be impossible. Thanks

The Z4 Coupe is a fantastic looking thing, but I've read that the electric steering and the runflat tyres can let the side down a bit though. The 3 litre N52 engine is a peach though, and it is super smooth to use for sure.

Hi, why the coupe? I've just bought a Z4 3.0 with the folding hard top and it's brilliant. I even think it's better looking with top up, drivetrain the same anyway and it's always nice to have the convertible option.
Imho obviously.

The z4 coupe looks far better in my opinion. I’m just not a huge fan of convertibles. There’s only one I think looks good and that’s an s2000.

Six grand will get a pretty nice TT, they get slagged off but I have a soft spot for them, I had a MK1 which I really loved despite it being a knackered and abused example. I also had a 350Z and liked it but not as much as the TT.

You obviously dont mind a V6, funny how the R32 from that era is going up, the TT with the same running gear is not as popular, one to make a hceeky offer on.

Audi TT isn’t really for me. Was looking more towards the Japanese stuff.

Yes and I'm another one that prefers the way that my 370Z drives in comparison to the Z4M I had. I'm a really big fan of the Nissan Z car.

I do love my 350z but it’s just to much on the tax at £50 a month. Plus it’s not that frugal. I could live with one or the other but both is getting a bit expensive now. I used to have a dc5 integra type r and regret selling it.

I could be wrong, but I somewhat suspect that if you get an Evo, it will be pretty much as thirsty as the 350Z, and the saving on the road tax will be spent several times over on maintenance. Upside is a higher level of performance, especially in the wet.

If you really want an Evo I'd be inclined to consider if you can stretch to a 7, 8 or 9 - cheaper than the 5/6, newer, and the same basic engine and drivetrain. My concern would be that they may continue to rise in value so now might be the best time to get one if you can, and if you really want one.

I understand what you mean and the tax winds me up with mine. Fuel isn't an issue for me because I hardly use it, but that almost makes me feel like the high tax is a big waste of money though!

I hope that you get something that you are happy with overall for sure.

I had a few cars on my shortlist in 2014!

Tried a GT86 and quite liked it, but they seemed dear for the performance on offer - although it handled really well.

Then I tried a Z4 Coupe and just loved it, so I bought one and never got as far as trying a 350Z.

Over 5 years I had a couple of them and loved both. Admittedly the electric PAS wasn't fantastic, but the run-flat issue is pretty easily solved!

I only sold my 2nd one this year because I treated myself to a Z4M Coupe last Christmas.

But for £6K you are unlikely to find a Sport model Z4C that had the sought after M-Sport seats as standard with less than 100k miles.

If you like your 350Z couldn't you find one registered before 23 March 2006 for the £330 road tax?

TBH I think a Z4 Coupe would be similar to your 350Z in many ways, whereas your other options are totally different cars so maybe you just need to decide whether you want an N/A RWD Coupe or a 4WD turbo "rally-rep".
