Long, long time since I've sold on PH but notice that after searching the forums PhoneSafe is... undesirable now.

Unfortunately looks like PH puts your real mobile number in there which I'd rather not use as I don't want spamming from callers once car sold.

Other than buying another SIM is there an alternative that others are aware of or use now to obscure your phone number?

Cheers

PAYG SIM is the answer, especially if you chioose to advertise on other media outlet, e.g. Gumtree, where you will received calls "about your car accident" within minutes of placing your vehicle advert.

Worth doing this and then sharing your normal number once engaged with an buyer.

Do you have to give a mobile no?

You could setup a virtual landline no.

I had my old car listed on PH a couple of months ago with my mobile number visible. Had zero calls. Sold it through autotrader.

I had my car in PH in June - sold it within a few weeks and had no spam calls.

Sold a car on PH maybe 3-4 years ago, sold it the day after listing and then removed the advert, didn't get any spam calls and first person to contact me bought it, it was an enthusiast car though (MK1 Focus RS) not the type of thing the average person would look at for the money.
