Major Car Hire firms’ servicing
Discussion
Looking at service records of popular cars bought “ nearly new” say at 15k (and thus ex-rental, whatever spin they put on this) you often notice, whether from main dealer or so-called supermarket, a label in the first service box stating that the rental company was “ contractually obliged” to service the car. Anyone one out there know if they do it? Yes,I know it probably doesn’t matter, but PH views would be welcome.

It’s only in the last few years some of the bigger rental companies have started keeping their cars longer than 6 Months / 15k. On the everyday stuff it will be an oil change anywhere from a mobile mechanic to Kwik Fit or Halfords.
Prestige stuff like Volvo, BMW etc will normally be done at a main dealer if it stays on fleet long enough to need a service. This will also apply to cars under manufacturers buy back agreements.
From experience the only manufacturer that has issues with warranty claims on ex rental stuff is Vauxhall as they often ask for an original service parts invoice to avoid paying out warranty claims.
