Hi all. I'm looking for car suggestions as above.

Preferably 250bhp or more. I'm happy buying a base model and modifying/tuning. RWD or capable of decent lift-off oversteer.
Needs to be semi-auto as the wife hates manuals and sitting in London traffic in a manual is tedious.

I'd prefer a hatchback and 5drs but would go 3dr for the right model (we have a 5 year old so are often carting child stuff around)

Before you suggest it; I have an RX8 already. Rebuilt, remapped, properly sorted. I also have an RX7 FD3S that can spin up its rear wheels at 70mph in 3rd.

I've also owned VW stuff and tuned them too.

My ideal car would be Japanese or German.

What do you suggest!

Here's the reality if you really want Auto RWD & 5 doors you're limited to two cars:

330i

325i M Sport you'll have to give up some bhp but you'll get one with nice spec:

525i

Now where you need an Auto you're limited in terms of a performance options with your budget:

Mondeo Titanium X Sport the best FWD steer in class & very tuneable but no oversteer:

2.8T Saab 9-3

3.2 A3 Sportback

2.0T S Line Spoertback

Leon FR

Octavia VRS good cars but I'd be buying the Mondeo

Golf GTI in all honesty I'd be buying the Leon out of these two.

Stretch the budget & haggle then the A5 Sportback becomes an option:

Thanks! These are all great suggestions.

Also considering Honda CRZ and anything VW with the TFSI engine (very tunable)

Problem with BMW and Audi is the way other drivers treat them in London traffic.

Might have found the answer: Nissan 370GT Skyline.
