Deposit Scam - Silly me

Was looking forward to collecting a camper this afternoon after speaking to a couple via Facebook market place earlier in the week.

Deposit paid on Wednesday after a phone call to secure and messages back and forth for the remainder of the week.

Due to collect today and radio silence although phone still rings.

Have the reg and address which may be genuine and the name ( and place of work) of the seller.

I've contacted the bank to see if they can retract the payment.

Any other ideas?

Go & check the address out, I hope it wasn't a significant deposit.

Ouch, if deposit was bank transfer best consider it gone and I doubt the address is legit. Never bank transfer if slightest doubt - easy peasy for any 2 bit operation to handle cards these days.

Sorry but bit of an amateur mistake, given everyone and his dog wants a motorhome right now not surprising the scam scum have seen an opportunity.

I thought everyone knew of this scam?
Advert for vehicle, generally cheaper than others, 2 images only: one of vehicle, second image with email details. Seller wants a deposit to hold before viewing....... keeps deposit and money gone.

Never, ever send money by bank transfer before you've seen the item or are there to pay in full as you take the item.

Sorry OP but you've lost your money.
