The old shape Espace for example was so airy with massive window aeas, its futuristic dash far forward that it felt like a space ship gliding along.
Old Citroens with the soft and luxurious feeling Hydropneumatic suspension also felt different and special.
Any other suggestions for models that give a sense of specialness?

Jag XJ, big cars that handled well without rock hard suspension, and smooth petrol engines that didn't need noisy exhausts.

Monaro vxr with custom exhaust. Massively comfy seats, and fabulous V8 soundtrack.

An XJ is a great call, especially the 350.
Obviously a large smooth engine and a soft suspension is nice, the question refers more to the way the interior space feels and adds to the entire cruising experience.
Spaciouness, airyness, luxurious lounge are some adjectives. Ah, and it needs to comfortably seat 4.

Your adjectives describe a top end luxury saloon, especially in long wheelbase form.
