BMW’s always depreciate hard in their first year. If I were you I would look at a 1 or 2 year old 18/68 Plate M140i. These are absolute bargains at around £20k, and thanks to corona used PCP rates have plummeted. I have just bought a 2014 Audi S3 on a HP from Lloyd’s at 3.8%APR! They were offering 6.8% PCP.

Other option is to go down the Used Audi route, as they’re doing brilliant Approved Used deals. I got a 2 Year warranty, MOT protect and key insurance included on my 2014 S3 (a 6 Year old German Performance car!)

Thanks for the response. The approved Audi deals do seem good, although I was looking to avoid audi as my last 3 cars were all audi! How does the Lloyd HP finance work? Is there a calculator I can use to see how that would look on the cars you linked?

Good to hear you got 3.8% with Lloyds

I got 3.8% last year through Lloyds but whenever I want to put a new quote through they offer me 10% APR. I paid off half of this loan then wanted to loan the same amount that I'd paid off again to get a new car, so I'm guessing my current loan is pushing up the APR.

I bank with Lloyd’s, I just used my online banking app to use the Car Finance calculator. Maybe worth checking whoever you bank with to see what they offer.

Definitely check out TRL on babybmw.net I was extremely happy with the service when I purchased my M135i 4.5 years ago and the price was second to none. I had considered PCP then paying the balloon but ended up scraping together most of it myself and getting a loan from family for the balance, can't beat 0% smile The deal from Tony was the same either way, he sells cars (dreams!) not finance. wink

Finance rate is definitely something to keep a close eye on as it will make a large difference to overall cost so bank loan or bank PCP could be a better route.

Finally £15k would get a good 16 plate M135i complete with straight six engine; I have no intention of changing mine for the new one, thanks.

With discount that was Around a 30k car new, looks poor value at over 50,000 miles and 6 years old,
the “Free” warranty has been factored into the price

You’re right, that S3 isn’t such great value. The one I bought a month ago is a 2014 S-tronic with 58000 miles. I paid £16500, WBAC have just offered me £15300. I’m hoping it will be worth 14k Privately in 2 years when the warranty expires.
