Hi guys, looking to get an estate soon, budget max is £5000.

Petrol preferred (unless someone can make a very compelling case for diesel)

Would rather have AWD or RWD but a front drive isn't a deal breaker.

Tax and petrol costs not really a concern.

I'm torn between something fast or something barge like and luxurious so feel free to suggest either.

Top candidate seems to be a legacy 3.0 spec B? I've seen a lovely merc E class estate 320 that fits the bill too. Also seen a few mondeo 220ST estates that look like a laugh.

All replies appreciated smile

Thanks, added to the list.

What does ph think of jag x-type estates? the 3.0 4WD version? plenty of these going for sub 5k

V50 T5?

I'm looking for a quickish Estate car aswell at moment, similiar budget and these keep popping up.

Have a V50 already though a diesel but it's a nice car to drive and superbly comfortable over long distance.

I've seen surprisingly good looking C5 RS6's sell for that sort of money.

Would definitely be a gamble though.

N52 330i Touring.

I have a N53 325i Touring, which is brisk enough, but direct injection, which can be troublesome.

I was also looking at Legacys, but I personally couldn’t stomach the VED. More interesting than a beemer as well.

Lexus IS 300 Sport Cross? Well under 5k so change leftover for maintenance/petrol. Fast (ish), RWD and luxurious smile
