Just sold my Audi A6 Bitdi as was only using it once a week for 280 mile round trip ( wife has Range Rover for the rest of the time)

So looking for something £8k -£10k 5 door ( probably automatic) that’s fun to drive ish !! Bug comfortable on a long journey.

Has to have 5 doors and preferably a hatch back

Ideally 2012 or newer and less than 70k miles and 0-60 under 10 secs.

Golf looks ideal but had a dsg fail in me before

Any advice welcome

There are some very good alternatives that'll be just as reliable as good a steer with no need to compromise on quality.

Infiniti Q30 Sport an A Class in disguise but with imo a nicer interior.

Hi Phil,
I’m in a similar position and considering a gtd, however I’m not sure whether it might be a dull choice as quite fancy a petrol and mpg on say a gti aren’t going to be a huge difference for the mileage I do - sub 20k a year, how many miles are you doing a year ?
Other considerations I’m looking at are 330d or a focus tdci if I go diesel route, petrol route I’m considering gti, bmw m135i, too many choices it seems but hard to pick all the boxes!

As with looking at any VW there will usually be a SEAT or Skoda option either cheaper or newer for the same money

eg £10K will get you a 2016 Leon 184 FR but only a 2014 Golf GTD

Similar thread from earlier in the year although their budget was higher, not sure if the same options will be available > here

They went for the focus st

Thanks for the replies, the Volvo does look quite interesting and hopefully reliability is pretty good
