Best car for occasional long motorway journeys?

Hi,

Wondering what’s good for occasional long motorway journeys and traffic jams around town?

Automatic is a must, and I think as much tech as possible to make the journey as stress free as possible.
Need a fair bit of space for lugging around camping equipment and dog.

Whenever I’ve rented an newish automatic SUV for these journeys I don’t feel anywhere near as tired as when I drive my old Civic with a dodgy clutch, and I’d prefer a higher driving position if possible.

Peugeot 3008 looks very tempting, as does A3 Sportback, CR-V, XC40, and maybe RAV4.

Hope to lease with a budget of 350pm for 3years.

Any thoughts on those or cars I might have missed?

I fancy a new car and have a fair amount of disposable cash. I can’t imagine I’d want to keep a car longer than 3 years, hopefully by then I can get a fully autonomous electric car.

I have to say it seems this is a stop gap car at which point think this car is perfect for you as by the time you've paid you deposit it's half the cost of a lease car & has all the tech spec you'd want as well as leaving you something to part ex for your EV:

Thanks! I honestly hadn’t thought there might be affordable second hand cars that have all the things I want.

Any reason you posted all Lexus links? Are they particularly good second hand?

Everything I listed are good used buys it depends on your annual mileage if it's below 10k with the majority being town driving then the Lexus is the pick otherwise the Imfiniti's are the pick.
