Hi

Can anyone help with some advice; I am looking at a 2008 reg Peugeot 207 GTi with 35,000 miles, asking price is £3,500. The car looks to be in good condition. Looking online the prices seem to be all over the place - is this a good value purchase in 2020?

I'd be grateful for any views, and if you think it is too much, what would a good alternative be?

Thanks in advance

Whatever you do, and I am sure you have researched this already, but have a look at the issues those engines have. Google THP reliability, or r56 cooper S issues

Run away from that engine.

My wife had one. I wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole. On the plus side, If you get one with the octane pack then you get brilliant Recaro (or Recaro style) seats. I also think it looks pretty good.

Other than that, it’s decent if not exceptional to drive and a poorly designed POS. There are a myriad of “known issues”, turbo oil feeds fail, oil coolers rot, cam chains stretch, exhaust supports rust through, electrical connections to the lights burn out.

Buy something else.
