My Volvo V90 R Design lease goes back at the end of November, it's by far the most boring car I have ever had, did a job for blasting up the motorway and the Estate was nice to have, however my requirements have changed.

1. About 10k miles a year, some short trips to the station (note, leave overnight in the station car park).
2. A few long M-way trips a year
3. Like to go to the continent in it next year
4. Good sized boot, rear fold seats a must as often loading garden centre compost etc
5. Needs to have 4 seats
6. Mod cons, I've got used to the new tech in the Volvo
7. Petrol, perfer 3.0 V6 or even a V8
8. Budget of around £16k

I like the 6 series GC but mostly 640d, don't want a derv, (my trips to the station for overnight stays are only 2 miles), might consider a merc CLS. Had an A6 Avant diesel before, didn't like the handling or ride quality but open to the idea of petrol Audi's of they address some of those shortcomings. So something on those lines.

Don't really want Jap (i've had many Scoobies and Evo's, Type R's), don't want an M3 as had a few of those before. I have a well set-up MX-5 for track and country blasts.

Have I missed any obvious choices?

I'm in the same boat, V90 going back soon.

Have you considered a Jag XRF (S). V8 500bhp. 61/62 plate available around £16k but quite rare. Looks like the rear seats may fold if that's critical.

Jag - Will look into this a bit more.

CL500 - Would prefer more reay room and it's a bit dated inside. nice car though
CLS63 - Too old
E500 - Beautiful but restricted boot space
CLK - Too old
550i - Spot on but it's Fugly, meets all my needs bar the looks but on the right path as it's new and later tech

Anything else i missed?

Quite like the thought of an A7, big boot, seats fold down to almost estate size.
