Hi guys,

As the title says really cant decide between the two so any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

On a side note is it worth paying the extra for the performance upgrade on the RS6?

Thanks

Just a joke bud and not even original, rather stolen from Eddie Izzard - whilst making a serious point, though I’m sure some people could make the opposite case I’m making...

Petrol vs diesel
590hp vs 400hp
V8 vs straight 6
Low vs high driving position
2 tonnes vs 2.3 tonnes
Estate vs SUV
Cake vs death

Oh i see. Yes i suppose it could be looked at like that lol.

But a new M50d is the same cost as a 2017 RS6...

Please choose the RS6. Surely you must!

A fast V8 petrol estate or a diesel SUV....... albeit a fast one.

This is Pistonheads, so I think you may find the audience is biased. Or at least I hope so, or there is no hope for us all!!

(Or have we unearthed a troll??)

Unless you need to tow a heavy trailer, the answer surely is RS6. And if you need to tow sth, the answer is G-Wagen

Not quite the same granted but I have an X5 40d..... I'd definitely get the RS6.

I’m about to sell my C7 RS6 PE and reckon it’s one of the best daily drivers I have owned. If you intend to tow you will need to get a car with air suspension, otherwise opt for drc. Tremendous performance, good ride comfort and acres of space, you really can’t go wrong.

I would prefer the shape of the X5 for practicality. Neither would work for me from a dynamic point of view so might as well have the form factor that works best for one's particular needs/preferences.

I had a last generation F15 X5 M50d and found it rather boring with strangely vague steering, and only ended up keeping it for a year.

I'd definitely go for the RS6 if these were my only two choices.

Well done, you will love it. Mine is a 67 plate PE in Daytona with a pan roof and 26k on the clock, probably going into the trade at a shade over £53k and it’s on a fairly new set of Michelin’s, makes you wanna cry!

Thanks! Looking forward to picking it up. I never even sat in one before....

How do they compare power wise to a BMW M3 comp? My last car.
