hi,
The mil is looking for a used 3-4 year old alternative to a nissan note. Her budget is about £9000. What should she be looking at? Doesn't want a fiesta or corsa or anything french.
I was thinking venga, i20, yaris, swift, soul?
What do yoy folks think?
Cheers Rich

Does she currently drive a Note?

I was just wondering why the Nissan is out of the picture.

I'd say it depends what she really wants from her car. We looked at the Note for my wife when we were shopping for a small family car. It was nice enough but just didn't offer quite enough space. Went for the IX20 in the end. Okay, so not a PH car in any way but it was cheap, spacious and easy to drive. And it's been faultless for the last 4 years and 50k miles.

I'd guess she wants something with a slightly higher driving position. My in laws bought a Renault Captur because it's very easy to get in and out. I think it has height adjustable passenger seat which they wanted. It's also not very big, something which often appeals to older drivers.

The most obvious answer is a Honda Jazz.

In any case, I'd say 9k budget for a 3-4 year old car is quite high. Most of these kind of cars should be much cheaper than that.

she has a 14 note and has had a number of issues with the car and dealer which has put her off.

Ps Suzuki Ignis looks interesting at that price. And the Skoda Fabia perhaps?

Something from Kia with the remainder of the 7 year warranty, or if its an approved Kia car it will come with a full 7. The Soul is a great car and the Venga could be worth a shout

cheers guys

I'd forgotten about the Jazz and Rio.

I don't want her to have something too small as she does do a bit of motorway driving. One i did forget was the Swift though she also likes the ignis, but i think it's too small.

Got to be a Hyundai, Kia or Toyota at that age, as everything else will be out of warranty.

The Rio is a nice size especially the newer shape.
