Private reg on a used car.

I’ve got a private reg plate that I’ve bought directly from the DVLA.

I’m going to put it on a used car which I’m going to buy within the next few months.

In the past I’ve waited until I’ve got the new V5c for the new car and then gone online and applied to have the private reg assigned onto the new car. This is done instantaneously and I can affix the plates to the car once it’s done online.

There’s no other (quicker) way of doing it is there?

It is quickest to register the change of ownership for your "new" used car on the DVLA website at the time you procure it. New V5C will come in a few days, that way.
