14k budget, 200+ bhp coupe / hatchback - recommendations?
Discussion
Looking for something slightly bigger than than mk7.5 Fiesta ST-2.
Current thoughts are Megane 265/275, Astra VXR and possibly Mazda 3 MPS.
Up to 14k to spend, preferably less than 60k miles and not prior to 2010. Cheap insurance a bonus as apparently where I live is dodgy.
Any recommendations appreciated.

The Megane is the best steer & a brilliant car but that means they hold their money well, the VXR on the other hand is underrated but that's to your benefit as you can get a nice newish one for sensible money:

Relative got one and it’s had no issues since he bought it. Really nice daily, fast and nice engine note. I’d prefer one of these to a hatchbackhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203098326628
C350's are nice but the E400 is the (but you can also get a nice low mileage E350) pick it feels a little bit more special especially when you drop all the windows away plus it has the same engine as the C43 in it but insurance may be an issue.

If insurance wasn't an issue I'd have said go for the E500 because they're close on fuel compared to the 350 & you get the wall of torque from the 5.5 N/A
