Best towing SUV

Folks
I have had a VW Touareg for 14 years for towing. I tow lots - cars, caravans etc.

The Touareg is starting to get a bit old and things are starting to ail.

I fancy another excellent towing SUV. Around £35k. Skoda Kodiaq is the favourite, but it's only the 2.0 TDi. Is that going to be a bit asthmatic?

Any other suggestions?

I believe the Skoda Kodiaq has won various ‘Tow Car of the year’ awards, probably with good reason...

It would be my first choice, in 4wd DSG spec.

I cannot comment on the Skoda specifically, but i have towed many 100s of miles with 3T of trailer behind a 2.0d Discovery 5. That 240hp engine is more than enough for the combined weight.

How about a pickup? They’re very good tow vehicles. Maybe a 3.2 ford ranger

Tesla Model X ? Comes with tow bar and tow mode, only up to 2,250kg tho.

I’m not 100% sure on the rules but I’m sure there could be some issue with weight limits when towing with a pickup, and you may need a tachograph.
