6 small children...suggestion for at least 8 seater

Asking for a friend expecting his sixth. They now have a Mazda 5 that is used to absolute capacity, but after January an 8 seater is needed.
Besides that an automatic transmission would be welcome.Reliability and affordability are also on top of the list.
My first suggestion was a Toyota Previa. Any other options?

The children are very well behaved, discipline comes almost on its own as there is no room for much else. Probably also due to the fact that they have no TV's or screens for that matter in the house and the older ones help around the house and play/teach the younguns. We know a few very large families and you'd be surprised that the chaos is usually much less then in families where there is only 1-2 children.
One thing is for sure, there is never a dull moment there.

Anyone have any experience with the Citroen Jumpy/Fiat Scudo?

No TVs or tablets... I bet with no school for 7 months getting the emailed info to them + the online mathletics and other tools the school use is missed

The snip would be my first offer of assistance. Followed by a custom van or minivan. Of course one that is fully fitted out, however I would imagine this would have rather vast cost implications!

Our child minder has a Ford Torneo Custom. I think it's a 9 seater but doesn't look any bigger than a VW transporter when I pass it on the drive. She loves it.
