Extended test drives
Discussion
I'm looking at buying a new supermini car, either a 1 series/A class/Mini Cooper. I saw that all these manufacturers are currently offering extended test drives which would be really helpful in letting me decide which one to go for - trying it on the commute, seeing if it fits in the garage etc. I was really disappointed that neither of my local main dealers offered these. Two just sent an email inviting me into the showroom and when I replied with how I go about booking the test drive they said it is not available. Same with the other franchises in the next town along! Anyone else had this experience?
I found that it was much more likely if you had a existing relationship with the dealer.
Porsche Silverstone wouldn't let me test drive a Boxster I was interested in as "they had just cleaned it". "Buy it first and you can drive it". lol
BMW Bedford gave me an F10 M5 for a weekend. But I had bought quite a few cars from them before. And I bought an M5 shortly after.
