For me in April, the budget has dropped from 5k to 2 1/2k as we are buying a house in France next year.
Final list.
1/ 04/5 xc70 d5
2/ S-Type 2.7 diesel
3/ PT cruiser 2.2 diesel

Probably going to be doing many miles between Liverpool and somewhere in France, diesel is a must.
Currently have a 2.5 20v V70, previous V70 d5, but I love S-Types and PTc’s.
The pt would be run without back seats as I would be carrying all sorts, leaves me teetering on the brink of ditching the idea of my first jag, really hard choice, there are plenty on the reserve list as well.
