As title really, they have their 0% finance event on atm.

Anything specific to watch out for with these other than overpriced cars to offset the lack of finance?

Looking to upgrade the wifes car.

Cheers

As a previous customer I received a phone call last week from BSM giving me advance notice of their 0% promotion. I kept an eye on prices for VW Golf Rs and - guess what - they have increased from last week, so they are playing the usual 'heads I win, tails you lose' con.

Some of the terms seem strange - 5 years 0% only up to £6000 but only 2 years 0% from above this up to £30000. Maybe this isn't correct but worth clarifying.

When I bought my car from them they sneakily withdrew the 0% offer as they said they had already had a deposit down on it. They rang me the day after the promotion ended to break the good news that it had become available again...

Having said that, they did move on the price after the 0% promotion finished.

Presumably to limit the interest charges they have to pay on the loan.

The terms of the 0% finance would be worth checking to see if you can get the payments you want over the term you want. £30,000 interest free is a great offer, but "the monthlies" are £1250 a month.

They do seem to have other amounts over other timeframes.

Other than that, yes watch the price of the cars. They ARE paying interest somewhere, so its ultimately the end customer paying for it somewhere.

You might get the right combination of a car at the right price and a term at 0% that works for you, but likewise, a cheap loan on a car priced for less elsewhere might cost no more overall.

Cheers all.

On the whole you can tell they have upped the price a bit but there is a 2018 kadjar that looks reasonably priced. I would probably take £6000 at 0% over 3-4 years and pay the rest as a deposit.

I've been looking for deals like these, some Volvo dealers had one a few years back. I assume BSM is like any other car supermarket or dealer with their pricing and 'add-on's'.
On the basis that they have increased the overall price of the cars to offset the lack of finance does his mean a 'pcp' on similar models at other garages might work out similar overall?just a thought.

This is nothing more than the usual DFS 'interest free for 4 yrs' marketing crap.

The interest is baked into the pricing already - as we all know.

Now if you had a screen print of the car before, and took it in and asked 'why has it gone up' - that might get you a deal!

I enquired about a ford edge that was for sale in Bromley after receiving the email, it seemed a good price but had no pics, the guy rang for days trying to get me to put a deposit down and we could then talk figures but wouldn't send me any pics of the car, today they called from head office and asked how I got on with the enquiry, I told them they still haven't sent pictures, she want pleased and thanked me for the feedback.

My parents bought a car on this promotion a couple of years ago and you don't necessarily get "0%" on the full car price. They got 0% on the majority of it and had to pay interest on the remaining third or whatever it was, still worked out to about 3.9% APR so not too bad but they'd just inflated the screen price to compensate.

They subside it with the finance income. Cars dont normally get inflated on screen price but you arent getting any discounts on them that weekend.
