I want a (very) late NB Mazda MX5, have done for many years. I've just found out you get them in a Chilli Orange which looks spectacular.
I've already got 2 cars! A wreck of an MGB GT, which is my long term restoration project and my daily C1, which has never let me down. The MX5 would be a 3rd. I live with my parents, have money put away (and put more away every month) for a house. I don't go on holiday (lots of day trips though), don't smoke, don't drink and dont wear fashionable clothing (although I am trying to change that). It makes sense that I could get one easily, but for some reason I can't justify it (don't know why though though).
So, please, give me reasons as to why I shouldn't (or should) buy one.

Life's too short. If you can afford it comfortably, why not? Will you regret it if you don't?
No details on the car from me, but as a general rule, if it is something I know I'll just keep thinking about if I decide against it, then I'd much rather scratch the itch! Better to regret something that ended up being a mistake than to regret not doing it at all I say!

The MGB doesn't count as a "car" as it can't be driven, it's just a hobby for now.
Therefore the situation is, you drive a C1, should you buy an inexpensive roadster and have some fun behind the wheel? To which the answer pretty much has to be yes, I think, if you have somewhere to keep it. Having a RWD open top car is going to be a nice complement to the C1, well worth the experience I think.
Only big thing is to watch out for hidden rust with the NB. But I think if you find a good one you won't regret it.

Mate, It's going to rust in such a covert way that you'll never know, then one day if it hasn't given you a warning everything that is important for keeping it on the road is like swiss cheese. The seals on the roof for the windows is going to fall off meaning it'll seal less well than a 60's triumph vinyl top. It's going to rough ride on bad roads and never feel FAST.You'll love every minute.

This one seems to have managed to hide any rust from the MoT man, at least ;-)
