Being too pedantic? New car
Discussion
Think I’m set on the GT86 and have a deal for a new one for £24k which is a substantial saving off its £30,599 list price. Thing is, I’m not totally in love with the lower front splitter ... I prefer the BRZ but it’s way too expensive and can’t get a similar deal.
Part of me wants to do the deal and learn to love it or hope I end up liking it but it feels risky.
Looks better in person but just can’t get my head around the looks from the front, I am undecided if I like it or not .... would it be foolish to commit to the finance without being 100% on it?

Blimey never realised they were that cheap - wonder why..
Non-premium badge, modest performance, most people looking for a 'cheap' 2-seater would prefer the MX5, enthusiasts with £25k to spare might prefer a used Cayman, etc.I quite fancy a GT86 next, (any car I like is doomed to failure) but I'd buy an older one for £10k.

Why can't you just buy the splitter and fit it to yours ?
Work out how much the new splitter will cost. Put that money aside. Buy the car. Then when you have realised you actually don’t mind the splitter, treat yourself (or the car) to something else! That approach usually works!

I wouldn't spend £24k on a GT86 it has a dog of an engine that spoils the car.
There are much better cars to be had nearly new for the same money...BMW 2 series coupe for one and a high spec MX5 for another.
The equivalent 2 series would be around £35k new though, not a 100% fair comparison. Nice cars, but styling is a dog’s dinner and I’m assuming wouldn’t handle like the Toyota (not driven it to compare). MX5 is only a 2 seater, but does look good value, even new. There are much better cars to be had nearly new for the same money...BMW 2 series coupe for one and a high spec MX5 for another.
