buying a diesel car missed service.

its been serviced every year but missed 2018. so hasn't been serviced in 2 yrs. its 4 yrs old and 40000 miles its just been major serviced and mot. its a kia but if u miss a service a warranty may be void. i specifically bought it for the warranty.. but arnold ckark says it will throw in a 2 Yr arnold clark warranty so im covered and £200 off.

my question i would want to keep it for mega miles maybe upto 150k miles or 11 yrs. the missed service is a big no no? or should be ok.
it was 15k miles in between the 2 Year not being serviced. so nothing major.. think it should be OK to buy? it drives ok

If you are buying it specifically for the manufacturer warranty and that is now invalid then don’t buy it.
A retailer supplied warranty is unlikely to be as good as the manufacturer warranty.
As it is not a rare car then find another one which has the warranty you want.

Just buy another one.

If I'd have been sent to buy that car I'd be kicking the price £1,000 minimum for the invalid manufacturer warranty.

More if it's a 15 grand Sportage.

See what Arnold Clark will cover compared to the manufacturer backed Kia one. I’m guessing it’ll be inferior.

A missed service in itself is not the end of the world but if it invalidates the warranty then I’d be looking for another one or at least confirmation from Kia that they’ll honour the warranty.

Why buy a car that doesn't have a full service history aside from the fact its invalidated the manufacturers to me it screams the previous owner didn't give a ##it! & hasn't looked after the car
I would look for another one with proper history there must be loads more Kia's out there for sale

with everybody else here, third party warranties are nothing like a manufacturer warranty.
There can't be a shortage of Kia's with proper full service history, just find another.

Truth is they're so reliable you will probably never need the warranty, but why take the risk. It's not like its a special car.

I had a Kia and found the Warranty good.
Still read the Forum and mostly good apart from corroding Alloys.
There is someone trying to get Warranty on a noisy Engine with very low Miles that had sketchy Service followed by DIY. Kia have said no.

Unless it is a lot cheaper, find another one.
