Thinking of getting a V8! Mustang, AMG... but, maybe an M4?

I’ve had a Subaru WRX STI as my co car for the last 9 years, but, I’m getting out of the company car scheme, as it doesn’t make a lot of sense anymore.

I have a hankering for a V8, I like the Mustang Bullitt quite a bit, not driven one yet though?

I also like the current shape C63 coupe, probably would want the S? My budget is 50k max, so I can’t see the face lifted car being in range?

I’m quite a fan of the outgoing M3/M4 too, but, think I’d want a manual.

Edited to say, I also keep looking at B7 RS4 Avants, but, they seem to take a lot of looking after...

What are my pros, and cons? Have any of these cars risen in price during lockdown? I know the Bullitt hasn’t btw.

Would it be prudent to wait until the new year?

I’m a big Alpina fan, of old anyway, had an E46 B3S cab a couple of years ago, but the styling of the M cars is a win for me. That purple ish M3 is stunning.

The white C63S you posted is quite local to me, it’s actually at my nearest Subaru dealers. They’ve only had it 2 months, and put the price up twice?

B7 RS4 but then I’m biased.

I wouldn’t say they take any more looking after than any other 13 year old car.

You’ll hear about carbon build up, yes does happen but relatively cheap to sort and just budget £600 every few years.

Oil coolers, hit and miss but again mainly age and maintenance related.

Discs, pads and tyres, these on any performance car will cost money but don’t take main dealer prices into consideration as parts are available for a lot less.

At the end of the day, they are great cars but they are 13 - 14 years old. A very different proposal to more modern £40-50k stuff but no less rewarding.

I’ve always liked them, too old, maybe? Not as capable as my Subaru? But, I’ve always liked them, and, there’s a few about with lowish mileage atm.

Ever since you linked this I've been obsessed with this car, I'd written it off and never considered it.

I've always thought that no one makes my dream car.

A car which would be the modern day XJS, where it's a fast comfortable 2+2 cruiser but the styling sets it apart from a 911.

It's double my current budget but I will make it my aim to buy one of these one day

I haven't driven one but I bet they are incredibly underpowered given their size. I'd probs go for the 840d and take the low end torque

That's actually quite reasonable for a GTS, they were an expensive car new, is the answer to your question & they're a cracking drive as well as rare so that's why.
