Is finding a car that ticks all the boxes impossible?

Hi all,

So i'm trying to find something suitable which I can keep for the next 5+ years. Currently running around in a winter shed which is great however I'm getting the itch to have something nice again. As I've always been in to cars - I'd like something half decent again,

Requirements
hatch / or estate / suv - i have a labrador
at least 2L - something with a bit of power would be nice,
Ideally diesel however I do between 10-15k miles per year so could go petrol if fairly economical
Budget up to 13-14k
The newer the better around 15/16 plate but not essential


Current contenders - 330D, Golf GTD / GTI, Focus ST, Leon FR,

However I'm wondering if theres cars I'm missing?

Any suggestions be great!

No it's not impossible but you need to know what it is you want from your car & what compromises you are happy to live with.

With your annual mileage I'd go for a diesel, with this in mind I'd go for some of these:

Most 2.0T petrol's will average around 35mpg whether you go for a petrol is down to you, the difference in fuel cost is 7p per gallon.
