Hi all,

I've narrowed down my next car to either a 330i or A4 3.2, both in manual. It will be used for commuting, nipping about, the odd longish motorway journey etc. Quite fancy a 6 pot so ruling out newer smaller turbo engined cars. I'm hoping for some input from people who have driven both the E90 330i and also the A4 Quattro 3.2L. I want something that's pretty fun to drive, including on twisty roads. A lot of the discussion online about these cars is people saying QuATtro iz Better AUDI 4 LYFE or BMW always, AUDI iz VW etc which isn't particularly helpful for me.

There is a 330i that I can't go and see/test-drive due to impending birth of 1st child but they are offering delivery and I can get a pre-purchase inspection done remotely. It's a 2009 M-Sport with 70k miles for 8 grand.

There is also a 2008 A4 S-line 3.2 with some nice toys and similar miles for 8.5 grand very near me.

I could try the Audi before I buy but wouldn't be able to compare it to the 330i as I haven't actually driven one (although I've bought all 3 of my previous motorbikes and my '03 c-class I currently drive without ever driving them before I so feel that I can make an informed decision based on advice/reviews).

I'm quite keen on hearing if the BMW is significantly more enjoyable/engaging to drive or if there is much less in it.

Thanks in advance.

2009 330 will be an n53. Personally I'd avoid. I had a bad experience smile

Fuel pump or injectors? Did it set you back a lot of money?

Fuel pump, 2 injectors, 2 coil packs, steering rack and still not right. It was moaning about Nox sensor when I handed it back. Maybe more the garage than car but fortunately all under warranty.

Lovely looking thing though...
