TTS 8J vs. S3 8P

I was so set on a TTS 8J however now have friend who owned the TTRS telling me a S3 8P is much better drive and comfort. In fairness I have not driven an S3 and only a TTS briefly. I just think the S3 8P looks abit uninspiring and usual... anyone help me out here on which they have owned? I can't understand why the TTS would be a worse if not even better drive, maybe the weight.
The S3 is a much more practical (and dare I say anonymous?) car - better storage, more space in general, usable rear seats.
The TTS has much the same mechanicals, some of the ICE is a little dated in comparison to the S3 maybe, but has the adaptive suspension.
Do look closely at the options on either you consider, there's a few bits that make either a nicer place to be.
Performance and drive will be broadly similar - it really is down to taste. Do you want a fast hatch or a 2+2?
