There are a variety of issues, you could be buying from a private individual so no consumer protection n those cases.

ebay policies do apply - they specifically say that car sales are non-binding

I mean when you're buying from a trader via eBay.

Neither, I was just thinking about a car I bought a few years back, from an eBay trader, which was bought and paid for in full before it was delivered. (It then turned out to be a stter)
