Hi everyone, new here so please be nice

Basically, I'm looking for something a bit more practical than my M135i. Something that will stick to the ground when it's wet and wintery. I will also be using it next year to lug around a boat (sculling) on the top. I'd also like it to be slightly classic, i.e. pre 2000.

I've been obsessed with rallying recently so rally pedigree would be a plus. However, I'm not after anything too ostentatious, e.g. Subaru Impreza (unless you can change my mind). I like the look of an Audi Coupe Quattro (B3) but reviews are all over the place. The Peugeot 309 GTi looks awesome IMO. Ford has never really interested me. Decent BMW E30s are being snapped up. Lancias are quite pricey.

I'm looking to spend around £6k but there's wiggle room for the right car.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Volvo 850 R/T5-R.

Racing pedigree (if that counts) and it'll be just fine in a UK winter if it can do it in Sweden.

I did have a look at a volvo, can't remember which one. They're massive, aren't they? Solid though

Most of the pre 2000 rally stuff will be past your budget now.
