Used car £6k recommendations

Hello,

I am currently looking to buy a used car with a budget of £6k and I am not sure where to begin!

It have a thirty minute daily commute on a motorway so I need it to be reliable, easy to fix and have some power.

Does anyone have any makes/models they recommend I keep my eye open for? In the past I have only bought Ford's but looking for something different.

Sorry for the delay replying, it doesn't need to be a large car, just cope on motorways - 1.2-1.6 engine! Roughly do 15k miles a year. Thank you!

If you're doing 15k a year I'd go for a 2.0d hatchback with your budget you'll get a good one with sensible mileage that'll soak up those motorway miles with ease.

If you look away from the normal contenders then you can get a well spec'd newer reliable car for your 6k.
