Mercedes approved used wrong wheels fitted

Hi picked up the new car on sunday and once I had it home found a few issues with it but the biggest one it seems to have the wrong wheels fitted to it as in wrong size compared to what it should have.

in sumary it doesnt i cant read things correctly

Seems like nitpicking to me. Why don’t you whip the wheels off and check for yourself? The wheels specs are normally embossed on the wheel spokes

What model Merc is it?

I agree it's slightly remiss to sell an approved used car on the wrong wheels.

Having said that, if the wider wheels fit ok on the front I'd probably consider it a bonus personally, and try and fit them with some slightly wider tyres (if they'd fit) at the next change - help resist understeer a bit better!

You may also find you could do a straight swap for a pair of fronts if someone else wants to go to such a 'square' setup.

Having said that, if you don't want the hassle and if the dealer will change them back to 8js for you, then I can see the attraction.

right well im a dick

they are 8j and 9j it seems the fronts just look streatched compared to the rears

next idiot bit the fronts are et43 rears et49, thats wrong website says they should be et20 and et49 well the black coloured version of the wheel should be the titanium is a different offset!

I've got much smaller wheels on my Merc but the tyres on both front and rear looked stretched.

The rears on mine have the bolt holes much more recessed then the fronts.

If they're physiclly the same wheels as each other I'd just assume the spec is wrong.

On a similar note, my parents bought a nearly new approved used e class back in 2015. About a year into their ownership and still well within the factory warranty the wheels began to corrode quite seriously.

The dealer accepted that the wheels were faulty but that only the rears were covered under warranty as the fronts weren't original!

Close examination revealed that yep, the front wheels were aftermarket copies that must have been fitted by the original owner. I think my parents ended up just paying up as the dealer weren't even entertaining the idea of being responsible.
