Small 4wd to replace fiat 500

My parents want a small ish SUV with AWD to replace a fiat 500. It must cost under £15k, be reliable, be able to drive long distances comfortably with half decent power and have AWD/4WD.

I think they should get a Mazda CX-3 or CX-5 But I think they're unsure, any ideas??

I'd go with Mitsubishi ASX for something small comfortable and reliable

they're fairly light cars with all the benefits of fun and running costs that brings, that do have 4WD versions. Also the first SX4 was a platform-share with the short-lived Fiat Sedici. So if they liked their 500, this might be somewhat comparable.

I would take issue with the description of the Kuga as being a smaller SUV since it is a pretty big lump (though very good!) certainly noticeably bigger than the Renegade or even the Merc GLA

I went from a 500 Twinair to a Panda Cross Twinair. Bloody loved that car. Did long journeys in it no problem.

Now in an Abarth 595 Competizione & still miss the Panda.

If you join the FIAT Motorclub, you effectively get treated as FIAT staff so get a tidy discount.

If they don’t want to go big have a look at the Suzuki Ignis. It can be had with 4wd in top spec and is a sort of mini suv. Nearly new is within budget. That said the 2wd is perfectly capable on road and you can put winter tyres on if need be for a bit of extra grip when the temperature drops. On paper it isn’t quick but it feels quicker, very nippy about town, and the handling is pretty good due to how lightweight it is (especially compared to true SUVs).
