New or used dilemma

I am about to pull the trigger on a nearly new AMG, one of the V8 models. There is a perfect spec one with 10k miles, first registered Jan 2019, approved used, for around 40% off its new list price, which seems about right.

I was about to buy this, when a friend who is a dealer manager offered me a brand new unregistered car, same model colour and spec, built mid 2020, for nearly 25% off its list price with options.

I am not revealing the exact model for confidentiality reasons, but it’s a V8 as I say.

Here’s my question. I haven’t bought a new car, ever, preferring to enjoy high performance cars once they have taken a depreciation hit after a year or two. With this in mind, I would appreciate anyone’s views on whether to stick to the used car, or whether the 25% off is a good enough deal.

Have a look on drivethedeal, coast2coast and carwow. Usually high performance cars can attract good discounts.

Unless there are some big updates I'd go for the one with 40% off.
