Ive ordered an electric car (Polestar) through my company, just got a quote, for me as the only driver, no points on license car key at home overnight, 8k miles per year.

Quote was £7112 for the year!!!

Surely that's not correct, what's the best company to try get insurance through

Yes I should have checked before ordering, I was expecting it to be more than a personal price but over £7k for the year?

They don't want your business if they're quoting £7k

Aviva are always way out the ballpark when my renewal comes round

I've read before that rather than declining to cover (which affects future policies) they give a stupidly high cost so you go elsewhere..

Don't forget that the company is the insured person. Make sure the paperwork is in the correct name to avoid possible complications.

I had a similar experience when I got a Model 3 bought via my business. Many wouldn't insure a car that was registered to my business, and those that did gave silly quotes like you have experienced.

In the end I found Direct Line gave a much cheaper quote and they had no problems with it being a car registered to my business.
