On the V8 Cusp

Hi all, apologies if there has already been extensive debate on this subject. I am on the cusp of making a V8 decision...... do I or not?

It will be a fun car, circa year 2000 or older and I am interested to hear whether this E10 fuel matter is one to be concerned about with particular regard to a) will the car be able to run on E10 and b) is it likely to devalue the value car?

I'm sure that there are a lot of you out there who's response may be to do just do it, however I have always managed to maintain or increase value in my toys and I don't want to be stuck with a pup

The car/s I am interested in are the TVR Chimara or Griffith so I can obviously ask the respective product experts regarding upgrade capability and costs however the underlying question still remains with regards to whether it is the opinion of Pistonheaders whether we are likely to see a general devaluation trend in such vehicles. What is the considered opinion in the industry?

Hi all, I had a previous post to Car Buys so thought I would rephrase my question. I am so close to a V8 purchase (TVR circa 98-2000) but the question of E10 fuel and potential impact is hanging over me

I’ve read lots of articles in E10 but there doesn’t seem to be much action taken by owners yet in preparation as I guess it doesn’t yet effect them. My question is, how real an issue is this and how long before changes need to be made to accommodate these new fuels.

Little knowledge and understanding doesn’t help me in this situation but how real is it , what are the likely mods that will need to be made and is now the worst time ever to take the step into old V8 tech ownership?

Please only constructive responses would be appreciated 🥴

If a car isn’t compatible with e10 then use super unleaded which I understand will remain limited to a max of 5 % ethanol.
If you are looking at a performance car then sticking to super unleaded won’t be much of problem.

Although Esso claim their latest Esso Synergy Supreme 99 RON is Ethanol free in most parts of the UK - other than Devon, Cornwall, NW England, the Teesside area and Scotland:- https://www.esso.co.uk/en-gb/fuels/petrol

Either way a TVR doesn't seem to suit your user name.
