My elderly mum has decided to give up driving now she's 92!

She has tasked me with selling her car but I have to confess I am not sure if its allowed - can I advertise and are viewers allowed to visit me? I have no problem with visitors but I am wondering if it might be better to wait until restrictions ease?

In short, would it be 'illegal' to travel to view and, potentially, buy a private car?

[Moderator edit: don't turn this into an advert please[/footnote]

As far as I'm aware, private car viewings aren't currently allowed - I'm waiting to sort out a new car soon but can't view any of the cars I'm interested in..

Trade sales are still going ahead with distance selling etc. Perhaps if the car is an easy sell you could try something like Webuyanycar?

Click and collect only.
Which I assume means if you can sell the car sight unseen then a buyer can turn up and drive it away. If they are coming to kick the tyres, have a test drive, look over the service history then that is not allowed.
