Stolen car database- how often is it updated
Discussion
Hi,
I had my car stolen 2 days ago. I contacted the police and everything, but when I go to check if the car is stolen on an HPI stolen car check site, it doesn't show up as stolen.
What's going on?
How long does it take to update the police databases and how long before the online car HPi check sites get updated?
Thanks

You have to do it yourself. Call the police you reported the crime to and ask them for the login details for the HPI website.
Once you've finished, you have to change the password and tell the police what the new one is.
You are having a laugh right? Surely this can't be right.Once you've finished, you have to change the password and tell the police what the new one is.

Just imagine! Knowing the lack of technical knowhow in the public sector, I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if this was true. After all, Track & Trace data was in a 32-Bit Excel spreadsheet. Incredible.Once you've finished, you have to change the password and tell the police what the new one is.
When i got my car stolen it showed up as stolen in 48 hours, you can actually check if it's stolen for free without buying any report at all:
