New car delivery and Covid

Hi all - tomorrow is new (to me) car day!!!

I’m really excited but how has everyone handled this in regard to Covid - the car is being driven to me by the dealer and therefore I’m going to have to disinfect it.

I could leave it in “quarantine” for 3 days but I know I’m not gonna be able to resist that and also I’m gonna have to check it over too!

Any thoughts on best way to do this? Any risk that disinfectant wipes will cause stains / discolouration?

I would get in the car and drive it myself.

You might be overthinking this.

Leave the doors open for a little to air it out, then just wipe down the touch points with a disinfectant.

Then go and enjoy your car.

Kids don't get poorly with Ç19 so stop worrying.

As stated, if you want... wipe down touch points with wet wipes (you'll have loads of them). Dab a blob of alcohol gel on the wipe 1st for super ç19 killing action.

Or just open the windows for a bit and let it air.

But saying that, do you wipe down all your mail. And all your shopping. Same risk...ie. bugger all.

Surely 10mins with some Dettol surface cleanser on a cloth with a wipe down of the drivers door card, seat, seatbelt, dashboard and driving controls are all that is required in the real world.

The delivery drivers I know are using hand gel etc as it is in their own interest too.

My cars going in (again) for some more warranty work next week, it was in a couple of months ago. I took some antibac wipes and gave the steering wheel and controls a wipe down when I picked it up, everything was fine.

I've been moving lots of cars around recently for dealers, and I've been smothering leather steering wheels with this stuff with no damage.

Unless your planning on licking the steering wheel or sucking a indicator stalk I really wouldn't worry about it
