Macan, order now or later?

So we’re buying a Macan S on PCP and need the car by the end of October, as our current car’s liable for the ULEZ which is coming to our doorstep then. The Porsche dealership wants us to put down a £3000 deposit now and they’ll book a slot if and when one comes up after August.

What I’d like to know, is there any point us putting down money now? There’s supposedly a Macan upgrade coming later in the year so is it worth me holding out till August or September before ordering?

The next generation Macan will be fully electric, I believe, so a very different proposition to an ICE.

Your order deposit is totally refundable upto the point of build. If the configurator changes in the mean time you can update your choices no problem. We have just done this as the new 21 plate model had a couple of changes over the 20 plate. All went as smooth as silk. Might as well get a slot but make it clear when you want the car so they don't build it too early. You will have plenty of time to lock your choices in.
