£10k, V8, relatively reliable

It's new car time for me and I'm considering either a new ish M135i OR a V8 of some kind. It needs to be as follows:

£10k or under.
Not an SUV
Reliable
able to do long road trips comfortably
Make a good noise.

I'm thinking a CLK55 or some kind of Jag

Any suggestions welcome!

As I recently bought one, I'd say Jag S-Type R [you'd get one for way less than £10k so can spend the extra on making it sound nice etc].

Mine hasn't been as reliable as I would of wanted, unfortunately...though ask me again tomorrow!!

The CLK55 is a great pick (I'm bias I've had a few) & has a very low bork factor, this first one has all the right bits done (including the facelift centre console which won't have been cheap) & is very sensibly priced so you'll have enough change for a full detail clean to bring the paint back up & dare I say it a nicer set of alloys as well as an Xpipe to add a bit more to the standard exhaust note.

With what's availible rght now this C55 is the buy low miles (haggle hard if the paperwork isn't tip top) but I think it's a good buy (if the paperwork isn't correct haggle hard to help cover the cost of engine & gearbox fluid changes & the 16 sprk plug change) but it looks mint:

To be honest it'd be the CLK55/C55 & the XK if it was out of the above, all three feel special when you're behind the wheel all can be run for sensible money & all have a very good V8.

Relative being the word, but TVR Chimaera. For £ 10k it will have its faults, but they're fundamentally simple and relatively reliable. Win on the noise criteria.
