ecosport or kuga?

hi everyone, my current daily is a 2002 megane coupe. its on 250,000km on a petrol engine. Shes got a 2010 ibiza with the 1.0L 3cyl engine on 150,000km. We comute 25km to work each day, and once or twice a month do a 100km round trip to see the inlaws. I would like to tow a small trailer.
The missus thinks we should get rid and get an suv. she wants a kuga, but i´ve seen ecosports for the same price.
what would you go for ? i´m thinking the 1.0L ecosport.
I´m in spain - so the "go to" webpage is www.coches.net (dont tease me with autotrader and its sub 5k ford kuga titaniums.. i´ve seen them
) - we are looking at about 12k maximum, and for that price I can get a 2010ish (i prefer the mk1) kuga titanium spec for around 10k, with under 50k km, but then i saw that i can get a ecosport on a 18 or 19 plate for under 12k.
repayments on both would be about the same. I prefer the Kuga, but it seems silly to pay the same for a 10 year old car when we can get a 3 year old one for the same money?
Or should i just tell her to bugger off and i´m keeping the coupe, and putting a towbar on that, thereby saving 10 grand?.

From what I’ve seen the Ecosport gets terrible reviews.
I’d pick a kuga out of those two.
My step Father has an Ecosport and loves it. They do seem to have a few known faults though, the rear door lock being one. I personally think they look a bit slab sided and much prefer the Kuga.I’d pick a kuga out of those two.

I drive both at work, and the kuga seems to drive better.
I guess age doesn't matter so much, if its gonna be a low milage example, i like the titanium spec for the full sunroof / half leather / 'tsw venom' type alloys.
I'm guessing it'd pull a trailer better too. I think they were all 2.0 tdci ? That'll bump up the insurance a little over what we have now or the ecosport/duster/captur tho, they all have the 1.0L petrol versions?

Haha.. yes, I suppose so ! we have been looking at the slightly larger of each brand, where the ecosport / captur / mk1 qashqai would be "suv" I would say that kuga / kadjar / mk2 qashqai would be the "bigger" versions - much more boot space etc ?
I´m leaning now towards a mk2 duster (sub €15k for a 0km car), or a kadjar, or an ateca?
