Ford 2.0TDCi 148BHP (2015 onwards) engine
Discussion
Hello All,
Quick question about an admittedly very un-PH engine.
Is this engine, as fitted in Mk5 Mondeo's and 2015 onwards facelift C-Max's, etc a development of the Ford/PSA unit seen in Mk4 Mondeo's/CMax/Focus/407/Volvo V50 etc etc?
It is Euro6 (ULEZ compliant) apparently. Does it use AdBlue or similar to achieve this?
Is it proving as reliable as the older 140BHP Ford/PSA engine, one of which is sitting in our near 16yr old CMax and has been as good as gold generally?
Any clues or ownership experiences would be much appreciated. And yes I am considering a 2015+ CMax to replace our old one. In Titanium X form.
Thank you.

There's a youtube person who maintains a fleet of taxis and didn't seem to rate the revised version in the 2015 on Mondeo compared to the predecessor, citing component changes reducing the fleet's reliability. I would imagine for the average car user there is unlikely any discernible difference however.
It's something I'm watching as the next car may be powered by one of these engines.

This is the one that caught my eye.
Any known items to check for. Assume these are still timing belt engines and this one must be about due if it is similar to ours.

That would be Alan Howatt of Steve's Taxi's, and yes for euro6 Adblue is neededIt's something I'm watching as the next car may be powered by one of these engines.
