Car with Indicator stalk on rhs and electronic handbrake

Hi All

I am looking for a car for my Mum. In an ideal world the car would have an electronic handbrake and indicators on the right hand side of the steering column.

The smaller the car the better although this is a secondary consideration to the above.

We have looked at the obvious contenders - Toyota Aygo, Honda Jazz, VW etc.

Does a car jump to mind that meets the above? Its not easy to Google this stuff.

The only cars I've driven with the indicator stalk on the right have been old British cars, and Japanese cars.

Only one I can think of is the current Mitsubishi Shogun Sport, only issue is they’re HUGE.
Strangely the little Mirage has its indicators on the left, and almost certain it has a manual handbrake, and it’s a miserable looking thing.

Even the japanese appear to have standardised on the left - we have checked Toyota, Honda and Suzuki so far. At least the obvious models.

Thanks for the reply. A shogun would not be a good match with my Mum :-) We are hoping for more of a city car than a 4x4.

You need an actual Japanese car, not a Japanese manufacturer.

The only car I remember with indicators on the right was an old Micra. We are talking 1980's though and I guess the newer ones have switched to the left.

I had a Kia Rio (11 plate) with the indicator stalk on the right. Think Kia may have moved to the left since though.

By the 90s (K11) they were on the left.

The current Picanto and Stonic have the stalk on the left

This. Everything I've hired in SE Asia has had the indicators on the right. The same cars sold over here have them on the left. So you need an import, or perhaps you could buy the alternative stalks and switch them into a UK car??

Yup. My K11 (that's being taken away on Monday) has them on the stupid side (left side).

I much preferred when they were on the right. Made more sense having both hands doing something.

You joke but I am actually chewing over an i3 at the moment as the gear selection is on the right hand side of the steering wheel and it has an electronic parking brake. Coupled with one of the indicator extenders above and it might be a winning solution!!
