Fun, reliable pocket rocket - £6k budget

Thinking of getting something small but nippy as a bit of a laugh for my next car. Wondering what people would recommend.

Mostly been thinking of the ultra small cars. Think Smart ForTwo Brabus, or VW Up! GTI (out of budget). Possibly Clio 182 or MX5.

Any other left field options? Would prefer something a bit quirky.

The other sensible choice is a Mk3 MR2, less rusty than MX-5s and mid-engined.

Alternatively it looks like two of the classic 'ABC' Keis are still under £6k. Watch for rust on the Cappuccinos especially. Also with any Kei sports, check you can fit inside before buying (!)

Interesting question.....

I ran a Brabus Smart FourTwo for a few years - kind of fun for what it was, but not sure I'd call it a pocket rocket.

We have a Cooper S R53 convertible - and have had since the Smart went - more smile value IMHO. The economy is shocking - it's thirstier th.an my Range Rover and slower in a straight line, but still a laugh
