Tiguan vs Golf SV vs 2 series Active Tourer

Looking for a medium sized MPV / SUV for a small family, on a small budget - 10k.
The above 3 seem to fit our requirements - ample space, within budget, decent boot, slightly higher seat compared to hatchbacks and sedans.
Diesel models are definitely within the budget (2014+) but might have to extend a bit for petrol, given we wouldnt drive more than 5-6k a year.
Am concerned about the maintenance costs for these 3. I guess Golf SV would cost the lowest. How expensive are Tiguan or 2 Series more than Golf SV?
What would be your recommendation?

I'd have thought the SV and Tig will have very similar servicing costs - with perhaps a touch more for 4wd system servicing on the Tiguan (if it has it).

I doubt any of these will break the bank in terms of servicing, but it's worth thinking about the bigger occasional servicing costs (cam belt change, replacement tyres, etc) and looking to either buy one already done or budget for it asap. The VWs belt and waterpump are due at 6 years.

We're in the process of selling our SV (2014 plate and much less than your budget)... ahem.

I'd say the Ford Kuga is the my first choice when people want a well built reliable & nicely spec'd with a decent amount go too.

Belts are due between 4 and 5 years on most VW's, BMW will be chain, BMW can be subject to EGR recalls, VW's eat shock absorbers,springs and brake calipers.

Out of the 2 i'd go for the BMW its a nicer engine and place to be.
