My shed of a focus has been given the last rites so I'm looking for its replacement. I'm quite tempted by this car

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202102279...

as I love a Jag and it looks nice and clean, but for some reason when I look up its MOT history it's showing as being registered as a diesel. Having not come across this before, is it something that I should run from? There's not much around at the moment and this one ticks all the boxes and would be just what I'm after.

Thanks for that. Had completely forgotten about the tax rate so thanks for reminding me. Think I'll give this one a miss then!

Some cars around that age must cost more to tax than they are worth now? Do people end up giving them away?

Odd that it's listed differently on 2 gov.uk sites, other sites I could understand.

Diesel on the MOT checker but petrol on the Tax Checker.

my first car was a 957cc petrol fiesta..

I checked the car a while back and it showed as a 1.6 diesel.

either a mistake, or the engine blew up and they replaced it with a diesel as the reast of the car was ok.
